A YouGov poll showed that 68% of Brits are actively trying to reduce meat and fish consumption and adopting a flexitarian lifestyle. These statistics are hard to ignore and by adding plant based foods to your menu could prove to be profitable and open up a new market for you.

Below we’ve included some ideas if you do want to add vegan or plant based food options to your menu from Tofish and Chips to burgers and pies.

The internet is full of recipes for Vegan fish, but if you don’t want to make something from scratch then there are plenty of products you can buy from companies like Quorn, Moving Mountains and many more – All you have to do is walk down your plant based aisle in your local supermarket or contact your food supplier.

If you want to make your own version then one of the easiest ways is by using a firm tofu. Recipes can be found online, all you have to do is Google ‘Tofish recipes’.

What else can I offer?

The possibilities are pretty much endless. If you offer pies, sausages and burgers, then there are an abundance of plant based companies out there that offer this from Pukka, Beyond Meat and Moving Mountains to name a few.

Just remember to keep non-vegan and vegan cooking separate. This includes storing the products.

Turn your efforts into a story

People love a good story, and with all the hype of Veganuary simply let the word out that you now offer plant based food at your shop.
